From ‘Bronde’ to ‘Sombre’

From ‘Bronde’ to ‘Sombre’

At the start of the summer season, we discussed an up and coming more natural trend, ‘Bronde’.

On  VMA’s we noticed an adaptation of this, combined with ombre; creating a new summer/autumnal trend. Introducing… Sombre!

What is Sombre?

Sombre is a far more delicate, natural approach to the classic ‘ombre’ look that has been popularly sponsored over the years by celeb names such as Miley Cyrus, Caroline Flack and Kylie Jenner… Out with the old and in with the new! Sombre is perhaps slightly less dramatic- however no less gorgeous and we think it’s the perfect look for the fast-approaching change of season. Much like Bronde and Ombre, Sombre relieves the hair of heavy peroxide and is therefore easier to maintain and manage. Showcased on the shoulders of numerous stars at the VMA’s, it’s the perfect match for you if you’re looking for an understated, sophisticated new look.未命名-1

As demonstrated by Liz Hernandez and Lily Aldridge, Sombre is the perfect way to compliment a modest outfit by drawing attention to the face, contrasting beautifully with a black dress. Gigi Hadid went for a slightly different approach, teaching us all how to be brave (in the right way!) by complimenting her luscious locks with a dazzling yellow number- it all seems to work! Austin Butler also sported this look on the night with a black suit jacket and white shirt, if it works for him it works for us!

Get The Look

You may have already heard about XCsunny’s selection of Ombre extensions, but have you heard about our new Mixed Colour hair extensions? By combining the two, you can easily craft this stunning new look!  By blending our Mixed Colours in with our Ombre range and your own hair, its easy to create this soft transition. A great example of this is our 1b/6 dip dye, which can now be mixed with our 1b/6 mixed colour, creating a beautiful and effortless sombre look for your

Maintaining your Sombre Look

Visually maintaining your sombre look is easy, there’s no need to worry about roots- roots make it work! The key here is to keep it all as gradual, subtle and as natural as possible. We all know that lightening darker hair will naturally weaken it- therefore by offering your clients sombre through the use of hair extensions instead of colouring their own hair this look can be achieved with no damage to the natural hair.

Just remember however that hair extensions need a little extra TLC, therefore washing with hair shampoo and conditioner and using a soft brush such as our detangling brushes to prevent tugging and tearing the hair will help to keep the hair extensions in great condition. Top tip- leave the conditioner to soak the ends of your extensions for a few minutes to achieve a silky smooth look.巴西发帘72890

Locks of Love – How to Make Your Hair Smell Amazing All Day Long …

Locks of Love – How to Make Your Hair Smell Amazing All Day Long …未命名-3

We pay so much attention to the looks of our locks that we sometimes forget about the smell of them. After all, most people don’t come close to us to smell our hair, anyway. However, you never know when a cutie will lean in to whisper to you. That means the more delicious your hair smells, the better. If you’ve never really thought about the odor of your hair, here are a few ways to make it smell amazing all day long:

Brushing your hair does more than keep it smooth and tangle-free. It also makes sure that there’s no dust or dead skin sticking to it. So the more you brush it, the better your chances are that it will smell great all day long.

There are specific types of oils that are healthy for your hair and will make it smell absolutely amazing.

The best types to use are lavender oil or #jasmine oil, which have delicious scents.

All you have to do is put a little on your hairbrush and then brush your hair with it.

If you’re worried about ruining your brush, then just use your hands instead.

If you hate the smell of your regular hairspray, head to the store to buy a new brand. There are different types that are actually scented. Find a smell that appeals to you, so that when you spray your hair into place, you’ll also be making yourself smell amazing. It kills two birds with one stone.

You have to wash your hair, no matter what, so you might as well use a great smelling shampoo and conditioner. If you do, then there will be a noticeable difference. Haven’t you ever stepped out of the shower and had a friend or #boyfriend comment on how amazing you smell? That’s all because of your shampoo!

Lemon juice is healthy for your hair, so if you like the smell of it, you can add it to your hair. That way, you’ll have the scent on you all day long. How do you go about this? Just grab a lemon or two, juice it, and apply it to your gorgeous hair.未命名-2

Rose water smells delicious, which is why you might want to soak your hair in it. It’ll assure that your locks get saturated with a specific scent. You won’t even have to put on perfume after using rose water because you’ll already smell amazing.

Try not to spend too much #time outdoors when it’s burning hot out. If you do, then you’re going to sweat Even though you’ll probably be more concerned with your underarms, it’s possible for your scalp to sweat as well, and you don’t want that to happen. You don’t need to spray your hair with sticky perfume in order to have it smell nice.

All you need to do is follow one or two of these tips.Do you have any additional advice for keeping your hair fresh?巴西发帘72890

How to Put on Your Hair Extensions …

How to Put on Your Hair Extensions …未命名-3

Many women wish for hair that is fuller and longer .Luckily, today we can achieve that in a matter of minutes with hair extensions. If you have never tried hair extensions you might feel a little intimidated by the idea of adding luscious locks. Don’t worry, putting on and caring for hair extensions isn’t as hard as it seems.

To put extensions in you will want to start by sectioning off the hair at the nape of your neck.Section off the hair from ear to ear. If you have fine hair, you might want to tease your hair at the base to give the extensions a little something more to hold on to. Put a medium clip in here.

Come up above your ears and section off again. This will be right above your ears along the widest part of your head, so be sure to use your wide set of extensions here. Again, tease the base of your hair if you are worried about them falling out.未命名-5

You should have one more wide section of extensions. This one will go just under the crown of your head. Section off the hair and clip in. I’ve noticed it is best to start by attaching the center clip in place first and then doing the sides.

  • Some beauty experts suggest cutting down a larger section of hair extensions to create side pieces.
  • Then cut between the clips to create smaller sections that are perfect for adding length and #body to the side of your head.未命名-4

It is important to remember when you are clipping in the side pieces that you place them a little further back, but not too far. You still want to add fullness to the front, but you don’t want them to be easily detected by someone else. Also be sure to add the same number of pieces to each side of your head and in roughly the same places so one side isn’t fuller than the other.

  • When you take your extension out of your hair, you want to make sure you store them correctly.
  • The better care you take now, the longer they will last. Don’t just throw them in a drawer or your bag. Gather all the pieces together and brush them out. Gather them together at the base with a hair tie and then twist the length loosely together. Fold them up and gently place them in the box or container they came in.

Chances are your hair is slightly damaged. It’s not as smooth and silky as your extensions. When you wear extensions, your hair rubs against the extension creating friction and causing tangles. Keep a small brush with you and brush through the tangles as often as possible.巴西发帘72890

The hardest part of styling curly hair for me is the front layers. This easy half
up braid tutorial lets your pin back the hair from around your face so that you’re not constantly tucking your hair behind your ear all day long. If you’re a natural curly hair like me, this simple braid tutorial is perfect for you.

  • Small hair elastic

  1. Create a part on the right side. You can find out how to style curly hair here.
  2. Start your braid next to your part. Take a small section of hair and split it into three. We’re doing a Dutch braid which means you cross the left section under the middle, then the right under the left. Add some hair to the next section and cross that under the middle.
  3. Continue the Dutch braid to your temple. Follow your hairline , adding in hair to both sides of your braid until just above your ear.
  4. Finish in a normal braid. Curve your braid around and stopping adding in hair to finish in a normal braid (plait).
  5. Link at the back. Take a piece of hair from the right side of your hairline (around your temple) and combine it at the back with your braid. Secure it with a small clear elastic.
  6. As always, I like to stretch out the braid a little, but that’s it!

  • I like to work with my curls when creating styles in my naturally curly hair. What I mean is that I add in sections to the braid depending on the size and shape of my curls. If you break up a curl it makes your hair frizz so add in whole curls wherever possible.
  • If your hair is really thick, this half braid tutorial would work really well in your hair. However, if you’re not you can add some hair extensions!双色发72890

How to Get Nina Dobrev’s Golden Globes Hair

How to Get Nina Dobrev’s Golden Globes Hair未命名-1

Riawna Capri created Nina’s soft, gorgeous updo for the 2016 Golden Globes. Below, we give you the details from Riawna Capri on how to achieve this style at home.

Riawna and Nina both wanted to create an effortless, not-too-perfect, whimsical updo with lots of twists, knots, and braids involved. Here’s the step-by-step how-to on Nina’s hair:未命名-2

  1. Start with dry hair and spray all over the hair to protect it from the use of hot styling tools.
  2. Then, curl the entire head with a 3/4 inch curling iron. Loosen up the curls by running the fingers through the hair and add some texture with spray .
  3. Next, create an inside out French braid with the hair on each side of the head from the temple on down. It’s more difficult to see braids on brunettes compared to blondes, so an inside-out French braid is perfect for that extra pop!
  4. Tie a rubber band at the bottom of the braid and wrap it under so it almost resembles a snail shell, then pin it into place. Fatten the braid with unite dust and gently pull it apart.
  5. Grab pieces of the remaining center section of the hair, twist it, knot it, and pin it in place. The idea is to create fullness in the hair, but with more of a lived-in look, so be sure to leave some ends of the hair sticking out.
  6. Lastly, remove the duck bill clips and connect the top part of the hair with the bottom section so the updo looks blended and uniform. The sections should all melt together at this stage. Lock the hair into place with spray and then use glossing spray to soften the hair and add shine for the perfect elegant updo.72890

This is What to do with Your Hair if You Only Have 5 Minutes …

This is What to do with Your Hair if You Only Have 5 Minutes …

Weekdays came again,of course you have crazy busy days! You’ve got school, maybe work, plans with friends and dates with super hot guys. There’re days when you can invest a lot of time into your hair and days that you can’t. When you’ve only got 5 minutes for your hair, try one of these quick and easy options.

Beachy waves never disappoint. They’re super simple to achieve. They work best when you have wet hair but can be done even if that’s not the case. Spray in some sea salt and scrunch. If you need volume then add a bit of dry shampoo to the roots. Don’t worry if they aren’t perfect; beachy waves are a loose and casual style.

Braids are so very in right now. You couldn’t be more on trend than you are with this 5 minute hairstyle. You can go for a traditional braid, a fishtail or a French braid. Do whatever style you love best .Another great thing about this 5 minute hairstyle is that it hides dirty hair quite well if you haven’t had time to wash.

ADD A HEADBAND FOR TONS OF VOLUMEmemotrce5589bc8853005022511879

If you love the look of volume then this style is for you. Spray in some dry shampoo to add texture and a bit of grit to work with. Tease your hair well, especially at the crown. Smooth over the top layer of your hair while leaving the volume you’ve teased in underneath. Slide a headband back from your forehead and you’ll have a style you’re bound to love.

Half up-dos are a great choice when you want to wear your hair down but you don’t have the time to style all of it. You can pull the sides back with bobby pins, clips or other hair accessories. Pull straight back, twist or add in some volume by teasing. This’s a great look for many women. It’s a soft look because it exposes the lovely curves of your neck.

Of course there’s the never fail ponytail.Women have been relying on the ponytail for decades when they’ve only got minutes to fix their hair. But it doesn’t have to be basic. You can hold one strand of  hair out and wrap it around your rubber band to give it a more eloquent look. You can also wear a low side ponytail for a fun and playful look. There’re many variations on this hairstyle.

These’re 5 hairstyles you can wear when you only have 5 minutes.

How To Dry Your Hair Weaves

How To Dry Your Hair Weaves

Drying your hair weaves is an important part of your daily aftercare routine, and it is therefore essential that you understand how to dry your hair weaves properly to keep them in perfect condition.未命名-1

  • Easier said than done, especially if we’re talking about non-removable hair pieces, but since this is what hair stylists always suggest when asked to reveal a few secrets on how to care for hair weaves, sticking with the “A stitch in time saves nine” proverb might not be such a bad idea.
  • Pros often stress how detrimental excessive heat is to hair weaves and, since I’m sure you’re using it to style yours, laying off and giving poor hair a break may be in order.
  • Furthermore, being 30 minutes early when it comes to washing your hair and letting it dry fully will save you at least as much time in the morning as you won’t have to deal with tangles and odd creases resulting of sleeping with semi-wet hair.53a051b70e7df_-_cos-girl-blow-drying-hair-l1pnwm-xl

  • In case you’re not into proverbs and believe the only thing an early bird can hope for is a set of gravity-abiding eyelids, you can at least make room in your routine for one cool blow drying tip.
  • Use a low-heat setting to dry bonds and surrounding hair first then style/dry the rest of your hair as usual.
  • See?It’s quite simple, it won’t make your life complicated and you’ll still get to use your blow dryer with the only difference being the fact that you’re not applying excessive heat to this highly stressed area thus visibly reducing shedding, breakage and the possibility of your bonds getting all sticky.blow-out-hair

How To Dry Prebonded Glue Hair Extensions Correctly

  • If you have prebonded glue hair extensions the advice for drying your hair is very similar to the micro ring and nano ring hair extensions, with a few small changes.
  • Firstly, unlike micro ring hair extensions you will not be able to air dry your hair extensions, as this can cause the bonds to become soft and tacky if left damp for too long.  You will need to dry your hair extensions relatively soon after you have washed them, however can still follow all of the advice above regarding brushing your hair extensions after the shower, separating the bonds and applying a hair oil.
  • With prebonded glue extensions you will also need to ensure your hair dryer is not directed towards the bonds for long periods of time, as the heat can cause the glue to begin to melt.  Using the lowest setting or even a cool setting on your bonds is best practise here.双色发72890

The ’70s are back—we have the rust-colored nail-polish trend to prove it—and Iman’s curls have a groovy Studio 54 vibe. To nail the glam disco-queen look, it’s important to concentrate the majority of the volume from midlength to ends. “If you put volume up top, it’s going to look ’80s,” says hairstylist Orlando Pita

It’s not exactly wavy, but it definitely hasn’t been flatironed into oblivion, either. Meet un-straight, the texture that says “I just happen to look this amazing, even though I put in minimal effort.” A middle part, slight bends that begin just below ear level, and piece-y definition create undeniable model-off-duty feel. Hairstylist Kerrie Urban’s technique for getting these non-curls: Flatiron two-inch sections of hair and “tilt the iron away or toward you haphazardly, so it looks a bit messy. It gives hair bend instead of curl.”、

Wispy bangs have their place, but thick fringe (think Bettie Page meets Veronica from the Archie comics) emanates edginess. Paired with ever so slightly tousled strands as they are here, full bangs are surprisingly grown-up and cool. But they don’t necessarily work on everyone: “They might look a little childish with a short cut,” says Annie Rush, a hairstylist at Eva Scrivo salon in New York City, who recommends a sideswept look as a short-hair alternative.

OLD-HOLLYWOOD WAVES-Beyoncébest-haircuts-long-beyonce

Let’s be real: Beyoncé looks amazing with any hairstyle. That’s probably why she changes up her look so often. But this modern take on old-school glam is something anyone can pull off. The length, shape of the curls, and added texture keep things current.

Beachy waves can work on medium and short hair, but true mermaid hair (as all Disney fans and marine biologists know) requires lots of length. With long hair, you’re free to build even more texture. “The length allows you to concentrate the messier portion of hair further down, away from the face,” says Rush. “So no matter how disheveled it gets, the final result still looks put-together.”

Simply put, this is a look you can’t really achieve with short hair. The model’s voluminous curls would quickly turn straight on shorter hair, taking away from its sophisticated glam. Because the waves are concentrated below her chin, Davis’s bouncy blowout looks easygoing rather than stiff or formal.Ad728_90
